Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Away, somewhere else

Alive she stills alive.

Why..?? Why do She stills alive but why? Seems to be no one... Seems to be nothing around her...

Her hands were shaking; her hands were cold, like the hands of a corpse. She still remembers who was there before. -I still alive... she said slowly...

Dad is not home, mom is not home... And brother isn’t here too...

-where is he now? Where might he be...?

Slipping her hands from her knees to her feet they were cold too.

-Silky bed sheets... Silky morning...

-What am I supposed to do..?

-Am I living a terrible nightmare..??

-God... where is...??

She was terribly sorry of calling God the guilty one... she is terribly sorry for that her room was cold too and the sun was rising up. Julia put on her shoes she ran to the crystal door that set her apart from the real world.

Julia's mother used to go to work with her father all the morning, they were never in home just when they were done for the day, Julia's father was feeling sad with no job to earn money and Julia wanted him to feel better so she gave her best, helping her mother to earn the money they needed Julia wasn't going to school for a while... she missed those days. As always Julia took the market basket and went to the market. No words or sound she wanted to hear. Mother was busy so she had to be like her mother cooking Julia's grandmother was always pending of that... Grandma was the one who thought her the most delicious recipes she knew... however Julia was hollow inside... Such hollowness that could bury her from the inside

Julia wanted to be a great graphics designer so she had to learn and study hard, thing she was not used to... Julia was always thinking on many things she is worse than a tornado in her head. She's always blowing up, anyways... She laughs a lot

She wears a smile to hide her scars obviously to disguise those tears she shed at night. Her parents always thought that she was happy even she was missing a lot inside, she shook her head when they asked if she was sad, they were too busy to feel

That’s what Julia says but inside she knows that her parents were always pending of her feelings and always wondering if she was truly fine that's why they did their best at that job that God gave... What is behind her room doors is that... She was broken

She was truly broken inside that hollowness was because she loved a man who might love her or might not but she truly did and he left her for a not her woman or that's what they say... Julia so sad cried inside the room bleeding... Everything for her was gone.

The phone was ringing, and she was hurry.

-Mom (she said tenderly) I bought the lettuce you asked for, and the cucumbers and the carrots... What am I supposed to do with them?

-Look Julia be careful with them and don't cut yourself please, prepare a salad with the lettuce, diced please, add radish and the cucumber, add some salt and lemon juice ok..??

-Ok mom... I'll call grandma... and the pasta is ready... I have cooked the meat with the sauce.

-Fine Julia, be careful ok..?? And go for the bread and spread some butter on them ok..??

-fine mom I'll be doing it soon...

-Take care with that Julia... thank you.

-Ok mom... you too.

Julia's mom was on the office trying to get out soon she was tired, she had no sleep. Julia's father was at the car waiting for Julia's mother. His eyes were dark and his hair too, maybe the years seemed to bring him more sorrow he was sad and feeling guilty.

But Julia knew he had no fault on that she knew that he was sad... she couldn't find the way to make him feel better. Through the dark sky, under the rain, there was her mother running to get into the car, cheerfully dad held Julia's mother hand and said hi, she

Was wet and he was driving fast so she couldn't get sick.

-Hi, how are you..? He asked tenderly.

-Fine, and you?

- Fine. I guess.

-I could leave the office soon thankfully

-Oh I see... I need to find a job soon.

-I guess I'll go to ask for a loan.

-What..??!!

-Yes... I can't keep selling my cows.

-Oh.! I see... so... Where do you think..??

-At the City Bank.

-I see...

-A loan is risky, but necessary.

-Yes... I see... Ok... Just tell me when you have all the documents you need and I take you there.

-Thank you. Today, I felt sick. I felt dizzy.

-Are you going to see a doctor..??

-I don't know yet...

-Do you feel fine now..??

-I think so...

-We have arrived home.

-Oh..!! How fast! I hope Julia have done everything I asked for.

-I know she did ok.

-Yes, haven't you seen Julia sad?

-I think she is... But she's not telling us...

-Umm... I see...

-Let's come in. ok?

-Ok.

Coming inside the house Julia and her little sister, Marianne, happily said waved hands and hugged them fulfilling them with kisses and laughter. Mom was sick so she took a glass from the place where they kept them safe. Julia noticing her mother kind of weak she said

-I'll serve the food mom... I know how I did it so don't worry about it.

-Ok Julia... Do it.

So she got the pans and the pots where she cooked the food. His father shouting from his room said strongly with his voice:

-Julie, Julie..!!! Come here go and take the tortillas..!!

-dad I already bought them..!!

-good girl Julie... thanks.

Julia wanted to believe that she was happy, that she didn't need him anymore. She still remember those loving endearments, that voice she loved a lot, those smooth hazel eyes touching gently her skin, and most of all his bronze skin in her pale body.. She... remembered.

Mom was looking at her, she was staring at the window like waiting for something, but there was none... the rain kept on its course, falling down... Blessing the beautiful garden, Julia loved the rain the most. And she loved the gray sky; she loved all the rainy days, such so silent, so lonely, so beautiful...

Like that day.
